FW21
Anne Isabella is the eponymous womenswear label founded in 2020 by Anne Isabella Rasmussen. Drawing on vintage references, the designs convey a sense of nostalgia and modern luxury via playful prints, intricate details and contemporary tailoring.
F/W 21 comes inspired by a nostalgia close-to-home, with the designer recounting her late Grandmother's rule that "flowers and stripes should never be mixed!" Part homage and part sartorial rebellion, the result is an eclectic pattern-clash that playfully challenges the notions of "good taste." Last season's vintage bedsheet motif comes upcycled both literally and figuratively, renewed as an all-over placement print teamed with the brand's penchant for retro-stripes. Fall unearths a sophisticated mood for the brand, underpinned by a soft, subdued colour palette and delicate take on tailoring.
The social and environmental impact of the collection remains an important consideration from process to production for Anne Isabella. F/W 21 sees the brand utilising up-cycled bedsheets alongside a line-up of GOTS-certified materials from the fabric and fusing, all the way to the final fastenings.
