For the Anthony Rubio Designs Los Angeles Fashion Week Show, I decided to present an archival collection of my best recent works for humans. I debuted a collection of very provocative men's tops and cover ups which featured feminine touches like sequins, crystals and beadwork.
The entire collection for the women was on the formal side. There were sequined cocktail dresses and formal gowns. All featured glamor and glitter in the form of sequins, crystals and beading.
I went that route to remind all that while we stayed home during the pandemic and donned sweats and casual attire, we seemed to lose touch of dressing to impress. I wanted to remind everyone that we still need to dress to impress and to look impeccable.
On the dogs and cat I chose to do three dimensional decorations and flowers with stones and sequins. I chose regal colors for our four legged companions. There were royal purples, deep indigo blue, Dusty rose and lavender as well as silver and gold. I wanted them to put their best paw forward.
For the pet clothes I developed different sleeve effects to create new shapes and silhouettes. I also went with huge voluminous skirts. The canine/ feline models were all very happy and very very comfortable which is the most important factor in designing for pets.
It was an experience loved by all.

Born and raised in New York City, of Puerto Rican ancestry, Anthony Rubio grew up immersed in his Latin culture loving everything from music and cuisine to the elaborate fashions which inspired his colorful palate and evolution as one of the hottest sought after designers to date. Growing up in the most rebellious and yet most expressive periods in the history of fashion helped both influence and mold him into the visionary he is today.
With a formal education in women’s wear design from Fashion Institute of Technology and with over twenty years of experience creating and innovating new concepts and techniques, Anthony Rubio had no reservations about delving into the world of pet fashions earning for himself the title of Master Pet Couturier.
Anthony Rubio’s Canine Couture is meticulously handcrafted by the designer utilizing the finest materials to produce a one-of-a-kind creation for your four-legged family member taking into full consideration comfort and safety above all.

Every season, Anthony Rubio partners up with animal shelters and animal organizations to include dogs that are up for adoption in his show. Canine Models included dogs from shelters, rescue groups, clients and social media influencers.

Behind The Scenes
Last To Get Dressed.... I can not express enough how much I appreciate my models. Everyone is so attentive offering to help where they could once they themselves are ready. I always leave Bogie and Kimba to be dressed last before the show. Their garments are always ready and fitted so there are no real worries BUT when you have only a few minutes before you have to run upstairs and be set to hit that runway things can get slippery and a little challenging. Thankfully I had my lovely model, Miranda Jade came over to offer to help. She held one while I dressed the other. On the other hand, since Bogie really loves the ladies. it is calming to him that one of the ladies holds and handles him. Before we knew it they were ready and this shot was taken before we were off to the catwalk. Bogie opened the show and Kimba closed. They had fun and per usual represented their dad's brand magnificently. Counting my blessings
