CAN WE REST HERE is Becca Flood’s premier collection of ready-to-wear. It comes from a place of deep introspection about where she was in her own hero's epic journey arc. She settled on believing she is at the part of the story where the hero and their traveling companion turn to each other and say "Can we rest here?". In traditional epic story form it is during these scenes of rest that the emotional stakes of the story are revealed. This collection explores those emotions and how they relate to home and rest.

THE PASTRY GOWN 100% Cotton Gauze Jokingly and later lovingly named the Pastry Dress as it reminds me of uncooked dough, something with lots of potential, something waiting to rise. A gown fit for step-and-repeats and field frolicking alike, as it is also washing machine welcome.

APPLE PICKING DRESS

An easy dress to be tied at the shoulders and allowing for plenty of mobility with a loose silhouette - designed with tree climbing in mind.

Hand-me-down bulky sweater turned embellished
muscle-tee. Also made to be shared.

THE BASKET SLEEVE SWEATER

Hand knit. The wool was sourced from Catskill Merino Wool, a woman owned and run sheep farm twenty-five minutes from where I grew up. Hand knitting has been a skill passed down through each generation of women within my family and was important for me to include in my first label collection. Though it is called the Basket Sleeve Sweater, the sleeve was originally inspired by the nets I would use to trap minnows in streams as a child.

MORNING BREW SKIRT

A self designed and hand painted textile, using 1/3 RIT dye and
2/3 Foldger’s Country Blend coffee. The use of coffee and choice of
imagery was inspired by the mornings of my teenage years. Waking early to care for our pack of collies with coffee in hand and my grandmother’s pots, pans, and teacups decorating the kitchen and dining room.

PASTURE CAROUSEL SLIP DRESS

This is a self designed textile inspired by the chestnut horses that
gallop through my childhood memories. It started as as a quick marker sketch and was later rendered as a repeat on photoshop before being outsourced for printing.

THE PASTRY GOWN
100% Cotton Gauze

Jokingly and later lovingly named the Pastry Dress as it reminds me of uncooked dough, something with lots of potential, something waiting to rise.

A gown fit for step-and-repeats and field frolicking alike, as it is also washing machine welcome.

BARNYARD BUSINESS SET

This charming mini top is made from scrap cotton and available in four sizes.

A Collection Made To Be Shared

This collection is made to be shared

There is nothing more intimate to me than sharing clothes with a loved one, wether it be a partner, a parent, or a friend. Many of the garments for this collection were made to be shared across gender and generation. There were a handful of people that I liked or had briefly dated in my adolescence, many of whom I ended up distancing myself from because I just never saw them fitting into or positively adding to my world, but my boyfriend and long time friend Max, pictured here, does both so perfectly and I'm so glad I'm able to share this collection with him.
