This collection was the debut of our collaboration with contemporary artist Kristin Beaver. Her larger-than-life, photorealistic works focus on subjects she came across while living in Detroit in the early 2000s.

She says, "Everyone always had sunglasses on to further disguise their identity and I found people would take on other personas and perform better in front of my camera. The early 2000s were such a cool time in Detroit, I had just moved there to go to grad school and made fast friends... we were all going out to see bands constantly. It was quite different then, the city was rough and wild"

The setting and subjects in her work inspired the spirit of the collection.
