LIBERTAD (DIGITAL + IRL)
Catherine Rodriguez's thesis titled: Libertad frees her from shame and allows her to reclaim her Mexican Culture. Libertad is inspired by a famous Mexican dance "La danza de los viejitos" (The dance of the old men). Mixed with influence from rebellious females figures such as Joan Jett and the queen of Mexican rock, Alejandra Guzman. As well as the ritualistic origins of the dance through contemporary Magick symbols such as the sigil, deity, and talisman print. She was able to create this collection both IRL and Digitally using CLO3D and Substance Materials.
