Fashion is Oversaturated

The 2020 collection, Fashion is Oversaturated, is inspired by a comprehensive series of super composition paintings created by Chelsea as a self-expression of the world around us. The colors, media, words are organic and the concept translates to the artist garments. To honor the paintings, Chelsea, staying true to the aesthetic, created mixed media garments with weaving, embroidery, spray painting, and screen printing. The atmosphere of the collection represents someone who lives with their grandmother. Grandma's house is a place of comfort, being crafty, colorful, clean house but full of nick nacks. This is portrayed with fabrics: wool, cotton, nylon, etc. and repurpose material/upcycled garments in the collection. These looks are developed from recycled fabric, upcycled garments, and repurposed materials( i.e. bath rugs, bed cover, etc.) crafty with a bit of detail. Using powerful saturated colors and yarn fabric manipulation to create depth and texture. The accessories pay respect to the mesh fabrics within the collection, creating a merge between clean and dirty, the rich and the poor. Items are classy, crafty, and a bit unkempt all in one.
