Draven Peña

Draven Peña is an American designer and researcher from Portland, OR. Her work sits between editorial and educational; with a focused study on Black spirituality and mythology in the African diaspora.

In spring of 2022 Draven graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s School of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning (DAAP) where she earned her BS in Design. Her senior collection has led her to be a part of the 2022 CFDA Fashion Future Graduate Showcase and earned her the DAAP Fashion Technology Center Wearable Futures Digital Development Award.

She previously worked in New York as a media editor for The Cutting Room Floor fashion podcast, and in 2020 co-wrote and published a 62-page report; The Dream Will Never Pay Off: How Unpaid Internships uphold exploitation and hinder financial sustainability within the Fashion Industry. This report has been reviewed and republished by the CFDA and featured in Denier, Vogue Business, Fashionista, and Fashion Revolution.
