IMITATION OF CHRIST SPRING SUMMER 2022 COLLECTION
The Imitation of Christ SS '22 show Wednesday, September 8th consisted of 2 performances in the St Mark’s Church and outside the church that happened at the same time. Starting with a peaceful protest of 76 dancers wearing red white and blue upcycled to order re- re-issued edition collection of cotton jersey from Imitation of Christ. Head Creative director, owner of IOC and designer Tara Subkoff tapped new young talent in L.A., guest designers Asia Caldera and Daisy Bourez, who created the vintage one of a kind upcycled couture collection . As well as guest artist Gian Manik, who hand-painted detailed portraits onto upcycled denim. Situationist quotes on the one of a kind pieces include “The more you consume the less you have” and "If love is under siege it is because it threatens the very essence of commercial civilization." It was beautiful, authentic and historic . Art and fashion are intertwined . We have learned these past two years how important it is to stay open , learn, have kindness and include everybody who is asking to be included.

Imitation of Christ is a collective that was established in 2000. A conceptual project that puts the human hand back into a world that wreaks of manufacturing and consumerism. Taking castaway clothing and upcycling /recycling these vintage pieces into one of a kind art works and disguising them as luxury high fashion.
