menswear as women’s wear, women’s as men’s. proportions elongated and exaggerated. for women, oversized sack suits, long, structured blazers and pencil skirts that pull off the body, high armhole blazers with skirts that sit low on the waist. for men, long, oversized blazers and coats, structured, fully canvased knitwear with pleated skirts, shorts, and cropped trousers.
constructions of wool, cotton, cashmere, silk, and satin. simple and classic, interpreted in new ways. trompe l’oeil, seersucker, intarsia, and hand embroidery. all highly detailed. jackets for men and women sewn together like pieces of a puzzle, intarsia techniques that mix fabrics and fabrications. a rugby stripe blazer that is a story in intarsia. each piece hand sewn together. finished with tiny hand-embroidered swimmers, each stripe a swimmer’s lane.
seersucker re-imagined in wool. knit cashmere scarves twisted to look like a swimmer’s towel around the neck. thom browne’s drawings hand embroidered onto blazers, jackets, and skirts. oversized sack suit jackets for women with gathered chiffon rosettes. women’s coats with strips of wool seersucker that have been ruched and sewn together with hand-stitched beading. a summer tweed with oxford ribbons woven throughout the fabric. a mix of satins and grosgrain ribbon stitched together to create a fabric. and cardigans, both cable knit and classic thom browne in white cashmere.
leather bags and shoes in nubuck, an homage to classic american sportswear. and headwear, a futuristic reinterpretation of early 20th century styles. moulded chunky knit boaters for men, moulded chunky knit turned brim boaters for women. each paired with chunky knit white socks. menswear as women’s wear, women’s as men’s.
