Spiritual ascension, also known as spiritual awakening, is a natural evolutionary process which involves the process of shedding the old self and experiencing an inner rebirth. Many people speak about spiritual ascension in terms of being “upgraded,” “rebooted” or being elevated in vibrational frequency. All of these terms are a way of referring to the inner evolution and expansion of the mind, heart, or soul. As the name implies, spiritual ascension is about reaching new heights and transcending old limiting habits, beliefs, mindsets, and ways of being.
Spiritual ascension, however, is not all angels, unicorns, and roses. It is often accompanied by severe and shocking shifts that result in what is called the Dark Night of the Soul. It has a long-lasting impact on you – it changes you completely. When you exit a Dark Night, you will discover that something is always taken away from you (for the better), such as your beliefs, your perceptions, your former meaning in life or even in rare cases, your ego identification.
Many people seek a connection with something greater than themselves, whether it be a higher power, universal consciousness, or a sense of the divine. This connection can serve as a source of guidance in life, a sort of divine light.
We are not alone in the world and there is a greater purpose and meaning to life beyond our individual selves.
Ultimately, as we move from darkness to light, we discover a sense of peace, fulfillment, self love, joy that comes from living in alignment with our true selves and our highest potential.
