SO NOW I WONDER WHAT I AM?
Christopher Aaron's capstone collection titled: So Now I Wonder What I Am? explores the tug and pull of his cultures and how he fits in. Christopher has always been really interested in exploring identity in his work. This stems from his own struggles with identity - particularly with his bi-cultural Latinx identity. Growing up, he always felt stuck in the in-between. Too Mexican for one side of his family and too American for the other. This constant friction has haunted him. With this collection he speaks to the representation of bi-cultural identities and the feeling of the in-between by creating his own design language for these feelings.

From Sarape to Digital Print
Christopher Aaron's development of the pattern began with a familiar textile, the sarape (Mexican blanket). Experiments with mirrors and scanner beds, digitally manipulated, and finally redrawn to create a hand-feel, intended to take back ownership of a pattern that has been appropriated over and over.
