"Before the world was turned upside down, the idea for my new collection was conceived during my daily commute from Kent into my atelier in Bloomsbury. Life was incredibly fast paced and I’d forgotten how important it is to unplug and take a breath. Time was such a luxury then, and the forced solitude of my journey helped me remember the childlike pleasure and freedom of daydreaming.

Gazing at the exquisite landscapes as they sped by, allowed my mind to wander off and explore. I’m always incredibly inspired by my surroundings and the sheer, untouched beauty of the dawn light twinkling on the morning dew, or rays of sunshine flickering through gaps in the trees, filled me with joy. From my fascination with this magical, hypnotic light, the seed of an idea grew and blossomed.

The Daydreamer collection is a natural evolution of the brand. We’ve continued to develop our own, exclusive beading & embroidery, while my obsession with textiles has reached new heights! The result is a distinctive edit of finely crafted details and ethereal silhouettes, grounded with our signature clean lines and luxury textiles. Every piece is steeped in the heritage of Halfpenny London and I’m confident our brides will love them as much as I do.”
- Kate Halfpenny -

With this collection, Kate Halfpenny takes us on an adventure through her eponymous brand’s history, as existing favourites are updated and reimagined for this new decade, whilst keeping an eye firmly on the future with exclusive new gowns and separates to complement her already extensive offering. Kate’s signature style, while already firmly established, is distilled here. Slinky silhouettes are exaggerated by the addition of taffeta sleeves, beading climbs the softest tulle to end in a glorious pleated sleeve and an oversized, quilted coat evokes feelings of warmth and comfort. Each garment is designed with the broader Halfpenny London collection in mind, creating thousands of possibilities for brides to hand pick their favourite elements to create the wedding look of their dreams and express themselves in their own unique way.

Following on from Halfpenny London’s previous collections, Kate is committed to design with a conscience and a number of sustainability measures are in place, with more planned for the coming months and years. Halfpenny is proud to design and make in London, England.

The Sycamore skirt has lots of dotty sequins and beads, hand stitched onto the glorious tulle skirt. This looks wonderful worn over any of our base dresses and gives a real sense of grander to any outfit. It looks magical styled here with the Harbour dress.

Like the Hazel dress, the Walnut top is also impossibly chic. This stretch crepe top features a dramatic silk taffeta, puff shoulder detail and a fitted, three-quarter sleeve. The use of contrasting fabrics really works here, you get the ultimate combination of a fitted top with the drama of the sleeves. The fantastic back detail is a wonderful surprise! The ties are constructed using the same silk taffeta of the sleeves and offer something unexpected from such a simple top.

The Oak dress is our new 2020 Classic. The box-pleated mikado skirt gives such a wonderful silhouette and features the pockets you’ve come to expect in my designs. The fitted bodice is elegant and cut so beautifully with its shaped, high front and low, strapped back. The Bow detail really gives you that traditional feel with all the wow factor.

The Rowan corset is a sheer, light-as-a-feather tulle top, embellished with tiny, magical Halfpenny London silk organza flowers around the arm drapes. Styled here with our gorgeous big mikado Ellie skirt, it’s such a stunning statement top to team with any of our skirts. The corset has a zip fastening back and gorgeous draped tulle detail.

The Vine coat is oversized and designed to be thrown over any of our wonderful gowns or separates. The outside is an incredible floral tulle that we have quilted onto the main body of the fabric. It’s a statement look, even over the simplest of outfits.

The Hazel dress is so chic and simple. This stretch crepe dress features a dramatic silk taffeta, puff shoulder detail and a fitted, three-quarter sleeve. The use of contrasting fabrics really works here, you get the ultimate combination of fit and flare dress and fun, sculptural sleeves. The centre-front split on the skirt also gives a gorgeous detail.

The Elder cape is made using heavy beading in strands. This is such a wow piece with a dramatic, draped cowl back anchored from the strong and bold shoulder pads. Such a great piece when styled with the Elder dress or over a simple dress like the Iris slip. Look how those beads swing!

The Silver skirt is made up of petals of heavily beaded tulle. The fabric does all the talking here and the shapes of the petals create such a dramatic addition to any dress. Here we’ve used it to add extra detail to the new Cedar dress. The train spreads beautifully on the ground with the petal shaped hem, and the opening on the centre front of the dress allows the under dress to be shown and give a real contrast to the detail of the overskirt.

The Elder dress is an example of a gown which allows the fabric to do all the talking. The draped neck and fine spaghetti straps plunging into a low back just glides off the body with the weight of the dramatic beading. A lovely show-stopping look, especially when teamed with the Elder cape.

The Rose Top and skirt are styled here over the Thea slip but could equally be worn over a slinky base dress or a fit and flare look. They are embellished with small beads which make a very modern floral pattern. The detail on the skirt starts out dense near the waist band to match the top, then gradually gets less revealing the delicious plain tulle at the hem. Fun with a twinkle, the perfect sparkle.

The Philip dress has a sweetheart neckline and made using a wonderful stretch Duchess, so really hugs the body and your figure. Philip’s skirt is our classic fit and flare silhouette with a small train at the back. It feels very much like our Oliver dress but will attract the bride who wants a more dipped neckline in addition to the amazing fit of our stretch dresses.

The Maple skirt is such a glorious piece. Teamed with the Maple capelet or simply on it’s own, this is a stunning example of embroidery and beading. The fabric is made up of abstract chiffon floral patterns with sequins and beads, which really adds depth and detail. It’s light for such a large patterned piece and gives such a dramatic feel to any dress combination.

The soft tulle Manet cape is the perfect alternative to a veil. It adds drama to a simple strapless dress but leaves you the option to go simple after the ceremony. If, like me, you like layers then this piece can be worn over any of our magical dresses and with a detailed veil too. You can never have enough reveal moments in my opinion.

The Cedar top features the same flattering cut as the Cedar dress. An update of the top of our favourite Cheryl dress, with higher sides on the top section for more support and coverage, straps which sit at the sides and the lovely centre back tie detail as a finishing touch. It looks incredible with any of our skirts or styled with the wide leg Marlena trousers (shown here) creates a stunning chic look.

The fluttery tulle sleeves are anchored to the dramatic, embroidered dress and the high neck tie detail is the perfect finishing touch. The skirt has godet sides with fabric bursting out to give it more drama. Such a statement dress from the collection really pushing the boundaries of beading mixed with tulle in a simple silhouette.

The Ash dress is a simple mixed-fibre satin dress which floats off your body perfectly with its full-circle skirt. The bodice is fitted with an under bust seam (the perfect place to pop cups if you want that little lift) and a gorgeous low back with covered buttons. A very elegant dress.

Apple lace is made in a delicate lace which is incredibly light and reveals more of the slip underneath. The long, elegant cuffed sleeves and plunging V front and back are the perfect combination to make a statement.

The Cedar dress is an update of our classic Cheryl dress. This beautiful dress is cut more modestly than the Cheryl, with higher sides on the top section for more support and coverage, straps which sit at the sides and the lovely centre back tie detail as a finishing touch. The skirt floats off from your waist with the two-thirds circle skirt.

The beautiful Apple butterfly dress has full-length, loose sleeves and a lovely low back, a combination I quite frankly love. The plunging V neck shows off your décolletage too so you can fully appreciate the intricate 3d embroidered butterfly fabric against your skin. The skirt is a half circle so you have a floaty, light, dreamy skirt and train to make an entrance in.

Style the Acorn skirt over any of our dresses to make a big impact. The tulle base is embroidered with fine silver beads which outline the pleated, scalloped petals. The train gives you the drama that you want, but in a delicate and elegant way.

The Maple Capelet is a beautiful piece. Whether it’s worn with the Maple skirt or simply on it’s own over a plain outfit, this is a stunning example of embroidery and beading. The fabric is made up of abstract chiffon floral patterns with sequins and beads, which really adds depth and detail. It’s light for such a large patterned piece and gives such a dramatic feel to any look.

The Victor Frill dress is our classic fit and flare dress with a V neck and plunging V back. It’s the perfect base dress for the whole new collection as well as a standout look on it’s alone with the new organza frill shoulders. Super elegant with a fun twist.
