The Salma Collection
The Salma collection, Mia Becar's most special collection of flats, slingbacks, and sandals, features delicately embroidered beaded flowers that are crafted by female artisans of the Wixárica culture in Mexico. Each flower is comprised of roughly 4,000 multicolor glass chaquira beads; each pair is entirely handmade and takes around 18 hours to complete. Mia Becar Founder and Creative Director, Betzabe Gonzalez, was born and raised in Mexico, and is passionate about her heritage; through the Salma collection, Gonzalez is able to share her appreciation for the time-honored traditions of Mexican handcraft, giving the beautiful work of these artisans the attention their art form so deserves.
