Noir Vacui: The Director's Cut
Noir Vacui: The Director's Cut is a digital-only fashion collection that holds 35 unique digital garments, 19 of which are accessible on the Runway360 platform. 'Noir Vacui' plays on the term 'horror vacuum' which means 'nature abhors empty space' in Latin. In visual arts, to get over this fear, the artist fills the entire surface with detail. This same concept can be applied to humans. For every perceived protagonist, there must be an antagonist to fill that space. It explores how constant negative stimuli within Black imagery influences perceptions of fear that lead to dangerous outcomes. Through fashion, music, and film, this project explores how fear aids in the erasure of Black identity and culture.
This is Mutable Studios' debut collection. With this collection, I strived to create garments that paid homage to my culture while implementing new perspectives gained during my journey as a student and entrepreneur.

Creating Representation in Digital Realms
The digital creation space marries the intangible with the tangible and embraces the newness that technology is bringing to the fashion industry. This space has the opportunity to show that Black women of all kinds have the ability to visualize and tell our stories in new ways. We are the future.
Product Storytelling In a New Way
Mutable Studios has taken inspiration from film, music, literature, and fine art to come up with ideas on how the stories of garments can be told digitally. Mutable Studios' goal is to bridge the gap between product and consumer perception. We want to marry innovation with nostalgia.
