“TEST PRODUCT EXCHANGE SERVICE" represents military-inspired items that are reinterpreted as town-ware. The EXCHANGE SERVICE is a chain of cooperative stores for US military personnel to purchase their daily goods. With the aim to create products that may be picked up by the EXCHANGE SERVICE, this line will be developed as an authentic military collection, collaborating with brands that are officially acknowledged by the military.

For this season of N. HOOLYWOOD TEST PRODUCT EXCHANGE SERVICE, Daisuke was inspired by the Protective Combat Uniform (PCU) cold weather uniform system. The layering method for the US military, the PCU was developed for special forces engaged in missions in harsh environments, where soldiers oftentimes need protection without the fuss. Broken down into 7-level ensemble Daisuke chose to focus on levels 5 and 7 of the PCU which provide soft shell to high-loft jacket and pant styles respectively. Daisuke set out to simplify these technical details and make them more approachable. The collection continues to mimic military style patterns and fabrications with practical features adopted from military training wear designs and fabrics which are contrary to the battle field for everyday life and wearers.

Photographed in a military style helicopter, the models imagine all kinds of training situations. Amplifying the idea of military-ware the collection was captured using green light nodding to the illusion of night training and showcasing the phosphorescent MIL-SPEC seen throughout the collection.
