At the core of our Resort 2022 collection is a woman of true authenticity who puts her own personal mark on everything she does. “I was interested in the notion that women are the artists’ behind their own lives: no two masterpieces are ever the same. Someone who has profound sentiments towards a favorite painter or an artwork always strikes a chord with me and that came to mind when I was designing this collection.”

An art form that especially stood out was watercolors. With little-to-no chance for reversal or corrections, the immediacy and the unique movement that is characteristic of the watercolor technique spoke volumes to Silvia Tcherassi. “With other artistic techniques —such as oil—i t is easier to imitate an image or even a certain style. The fluidity and the movement in watercolors is more unpredictable and spontaneous, yet the overall effect is translucent and graceful.”

Clever brushstrokes, serene gradients and dainty florals adequately capture the brand’s effortless spirit while loose, yet thoroughly feminine silhouettes in cotton, silk and knits stand out in a color palette inspired by the watercolors of French artist, Sonia Delaunay and Milton Avery. A range of Italian made accessories embellish the ready-to-wear pieces: Cross-body handbags with chain detailing and waist-cinching belts further fuse the house’s embrace of tradition and modernity.
