ROSS WARD WARKWORTH
Anson Lee's collection titled: Ross Ward Warkworth draws inspiration from and pays tribute to Ross Ward, a Toronto artisan commonly known by the community as “Toronto’s Birdman” because he carves wooden on the streets. Seeing this demonstration of craft sparks the question of the visibility of workers and labor. This collection aims to analyze traits such as love and compassion through the lens of craftsmanship while reestablishing this missing narrative of craft and labor in the fashion industry. This collection consists of wooden beading, embroidery, and wood carvings. The union of our two respective disciplines further demonstrates the importance of the visibility of labor. The garments in this collection enable wearers to acknowledge the humanness behind clothes.
