The Et Ochs Resort 2023 collection proposes a profoundly playful wardrobe in an electric clash of color and texture, where animated Rugrats characters meet fluid Mid-Century Modern furniture motifs.
Familiar silhouettes are reimagined under a humorous gaze: garments are animated with unexpected three-dimensional wire inserts while abstract shapes are draped, gathered and twisted, conveying fluid movement and a fresh sense of ease. Skin playfully peaks through short hems, corded lacing and re- vealing cut-outs, whereas fuzzy Kid Mohair knitwear and curly hair shearling outerwear grounds the col- lection in a world of trippy distortion. Folded bias bindings slice through sculptural, voluminous dolman sleeves, echoing the sensual organic shapes of Mid-Century Modern furniture.
The unapologetically loud and clashing aesthetic of the animated series Rugrats inspires the collection’s joyous color palette: unabashed outburst of vivid Cyan, Pickles, Bubblegum, and Cherry, punctuated by a neutral base of Dark Chocolate, Black, Sugar Cookie, Pebble, and Optic White, celebrate the weirdness and wonder of childlike delights.
Playful, contrasting textures saturate the collection with the introduction of delicate Crepe Jersey, fuzzy Kid Mohair, mirror-finished Patent Leather, Summer Wool, Cotton Duchess and Viscose Twill, counterbal- ancing the familiar core fabrications of luxurious Italian-made Stretch Cady, Gloss Jersey, Power Stretch Viscose, and Japanese Indigo raw denim.
