NYFW S/S 24 BREAKDOWN PRESENTATION
JKEEFER's debut runway collection draws inspiration from the Hardcore punk scene, which fuels his creativity and individuality. The show, held at the renowned Saint Vitus bar in Greenpoint, features garments primarily composed of black; many appropriately titled after Hardcore icons.
A casual scene of strangers waits to get into a gig. In the Stabb shirt, an erratic bleach treatment represents the chaos of a show. Rollins Runner shorts, pulled straight from legendary Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins’ signature look, are elevated by Italian Stretch Twill. The Cave Coat utilizes a sharp, imposing silhouette cut in an Italian recycled wool/polyester faille. Homage is paid to the archetypal MA-1 bomber. Like the scene, the collection is for anyone, but not everyone.
JKEEFER strives to foster a sense of community and belonging through the collection. This is evident in the sponsorship from the iconic Dr Martens. Our friends at Good Art HLYWD provide sterling silver ball chains, jewelry, and collaboration pins.
SERIES 04 | BREAKDOWN aims to capture the energy and radical inclusivity of the hardcore scene while breaking down the barriers of the men's uniform. Beautiful Italian-made clothing seen through hazy lights and loud nights. A love letter to East Coast hardcore, written on a bar napkin.
