"OME" explores the connection between the past and present, the mystical and the tangible. Inspired by ancient Mexican history and the designer’s family heritage, the collection features naturally dyed textiles made by artisans in the south of Mexico, custom-made bias, in-house print that was designed using the designer's old family photographs and drawings made from mixed-media explorations, and sustainable wooden jewelry made in collaboration with Kanan Che.

The story behind every thread

MEXICAN MASTERY

This collection would not have been possible without the magic, talent, mastery, and dedication of all the artisans that brought this collection to life, through their textiles, embroideries, and weavings. Their talent is something that should be celebrated and shown to the world. These are some of the traditions that make Mexico what it is today, and they should continue to be passed on so that they are not lost in the future. The Story behind each Detail

Intertwined Map of Personal Histories

The purpose of these designs is for the wearer to experience the story behind every piece. For them to know that every detail no matter how small has been thought out, that the materials have been sourced respectfully and created with a deep value for sustainability. That each piece has been made as if it was the only one of its kind, striving to push away from mass production. For the wearer to feel that each piece is personal, interchangeable, and can be continuously worn. Each garment creates an intertwined map of personal histories, from the fine textiles made by Oaxacan artisans to the women who embroidered the pieces, to the homage to the designer’s family members who have passed but will live forever in the textiles she designed, and to each piece being touched in one way or another by the designer’s family and close friends.
