Resort 2022
For Resort 2022, Creative Director Zoe Turner takes the codes of the house and continues to develop the fusion of style and technique into something entirely new. Her approach is uniquely St. John, but the silhouettes and the techniques in tweed drive the wardrobe forward, with a notable shift to contoured fits. Signature tweeds go stretch, with the development of a textile that molds itself to the form of the body, and then moves with a woman through her day. An all-in-one bodysuit, is layered with a reworking of the signature St. John jacket to create the look of the season. Bouclé skirts and shorts announce a return to shorter lengths, iridescent foiled tweeds catch and reflect the light, whilst a Margay cat native to the Americas, is knitted into scoop neck dresses, jackets and lean trousers. Topstitched five-pocket shapes are cut in tweeds and now in sequin knit, blurring the line from day to night, but keeping evening separates desirable. Hand embroidered evening wear shines in a coat layered over a dress for the golden hour and beyond, and a crescent cutaway sandal in soft nappa is the ideal shoe to finish the look.
