Katie Gallagher Fall/Winter 2019: "Ten, Ten, Ten"
Celebrating 10 years of her label, Katie Gallagher introduces her Fall/Winter 2019 collection, "Ten, Ten, Ten."
Through her FW19 collection, Gallagher reflects on the attainment of a real and tangible milestone while analyzing the figurative symbolism and conceptualization of the number 10.
Ten marks the completion of a cycle, and in turn, the realization of a new beginning. Ten symbolizes love, light, luck, and creation. It is a number of rise and fall; absolute creation and absolute destruction. Self-discipline and compassion--two qualities that Gallagher has been praised for--must accompany the former in order to avoid the tragedy of the latter.
"Ten, Ten, Ten" features primarily black garments with gold hardware, including gold safety pin--a nod to Gallagher's SS19 collection, "Rosemary." For this season's collection, Gallagher also draws inspiration from Shirley Eaton, the iconic golden girl from the 1964 classic James Bond movie, "Goldfinger."
In keeping with the symbolism of her latest collection, Gallagher recently announced that she will be leaving New York City in 10 days, for Los Angeles.
"Ten, Ten Ten" is Gallagher's 20th collection.
