S/S21 MARCHESA NOTTE
Inspired by the vibrant aura of Frida Kahlo’s Villa known as La Casa Azul “The Blue House” was the central influence for the Marchesa Notte S/S21 collection.
Frida’s tropical garden filled with exotic plants and brightly pigmented ceramics served as the main color canvas for our collection’s hand painted and over dye prints. An expressive multi-colored print floods layers of waterfall chiffon tiers and textured three
dimensional tropical blooms. Large scale splashes of intense color create high-low gradients on rich satin ball gowns and sunburst pleat skirts. Graphic florals are woven into tones of wild buttercup and bright cerulean finished with flamboyant draped shoulder bows and hem ruffles.
The vibrancy of Frida’s garden translated also to the daywear line with playful painterly bombers and a bold monstera print growing on sleek V-necks and two piece suits. Dancing exotic blooms flow onto tiered chiffon midi and mini dresses finished with braided belt details and tiny ruffled seams.
